Manitoba
It depends if his legs/feet are frostbitten. If so I'd shoot him and cut your losses, save him a lot of suffering. And to all the experts that advocate May calving, had one born the first of May 2010 during some freezing rain that would've froze to death if I hadn't got him into the barn and warmed him up.I'm calving right now and it's wicked cold here in Manitoba cuz that's the time of year that I can devote every minute of my time to the cows. It's been a few years since I had one that froze even the tips of it's ears due to a combination of diligence and good luck(happening along at the right time).Yeah it's a lot more work than summer calving but it works for me.
