I know pasture rents are getting MORE expensive every year.
depending on how you figure the costs,,,it is running 150 bucks plus a pair here. AND a bit further north and west IF you want grass,,,more like 200 buckaroos and then some a pair for a normal graze season,,,extended more yet!!
Now if you are only paying 100 or so a pair,,,have to spread fertilizer,,,stand fence repair costs(not too much),,,and have to spray thistles(like a flooding creek bottom where you always get new seed). AND not too many pairs in a pasture(so bull cost per cow is HIGHER) You do get to 200 a pair before you know it. Those nickel and dimes you are spending add up REAL fast. Even throw application fees in by doing yourself.
(this SHOULD be another whole thread) My question IS whats all you guys paying for pasture rents around you, AND what do you have to add on top,expense wise???? | |
