Likely the splines have stripped on the 4th gear clutch hub. Something we see fairly regularly on this transmission at the shop. Not really a 'quick fix' problem (aside from driving without overdrive). If the rest of the car is in good shape, its probably worth rebuilding. Lots of 3.8's running around with 250,000-300,000+ miles.
