This guy is edumacated enough to know that when you run a company with any size at all with multiple entities, and one needs overhauling, you don't put one of the others at risk to do it when you can borrow the money at a great rate from any source. They all need to remain solvent on their own. The finance entity was likely feeling the crunch during the financial meltdown while the rest of the company was golden.
