It's not the horse that will kill a drive line. It's the torque. Those 400 horse 6 cylinder engines in the class 8's are putting out tremendous torque and they do so in a short rpm band. Probably close to 1200 ft/lbs where the 6.6L is close to 600 ft/lbs.
