Subject: RE: Challenger Tractors

SE North Dakota
Plowboy, it must be getting late because I can't follow your logic. If it is conceivable that pricing strategy can vary even on the dealership level, why is it inconceivable that AGCO would not allow the pricing strategy to vary among it's numerous lines of tractors and equipment?

PS- I thought of a better way of putting all this. In my part of the country, one dealer group (Challenger) controls all of North Dakota, South Dakota and parts of Minn. They also control their own pricing strategy. Whether it is a higher list by Agco or a much higher dealer mark-up, the Challenger parts and service is much higher than a comparable Agco prices. Bottom line- Challenger costs more here. Agco allows this variance. If I don't like it I can load up my Challenger and drive many hours and try my luck at another Challenger dealer group (not likely). The result might be same. My advice to a potential tractor buyer is to look into your own situation and see if it resembles mine.
