West Texas | That's right. Rig up 2 pieces of angle iron or anything really to clamp the belting in between, (4 pieces actually, 2 on each end) then I usually use a come-a-long to pull them together. Then stick a rod trhu the lacing first and push the rod out with the cable or gently pull out a little of the rod as you are pushing the cable thru. It really help a lot if you have someone helping but I've done it by myself lots of times.
One thing to be sure of if putting the lacing on yourself is that the belt is cut straight. If not you won't be able to get your belt to run centered. It will want to run to one side or the other and mess up the edges.
We had a conveyor belt that the wind took of with and it got tweaked just a little. Never could keep the belt running straight on it after that. | |
