My local tech makes an angle iron piece that mounts to two of the bolts above the core plug and wraps around to keep the plug in place. He installs them even if the plug is still in place. He says that harsh use of the range lever is what pops them out. Also some fit tighter than others. His fix is pretty positive for keeping the plug in place even with harsh use.
