Aberdeen MS | loran,
Guy I was leased to had a Timpte that had the same dilema. What salved the problem for him, from Timpte, was run a 5/16" (I think, it's been 5 yrs since then) drill bit through the slot.
The plastic wrinkled with the weight on the trap door just enough to act like a friction lock on the slides. His driver never complained anymore after taking a few mins with the drill.
Heck what have you got to lose???
I can tell you from first hand experience tho, twist up/off the shaft makes for a few P'd off drivers behind you when you are standing there looking at a dribble coming out of the traps and the beginning and the end of the assembly are not longer connected in a straight line.... LOL. Pipe wrenches aren't a common tool in an 18 wheeler... *grin* | |
