Belzoni, Mississippi | I booked some corn with an elevator about 40 miles away. The trucker that i have has been with me for 2 years. He is charging me 40 cents a bushel to haul it that far. Every load of corn has had alfatoxin at that elevator. I sent a load to my local elevator and it had none. Im getting 14 cents over now at my local elevator. I owe the elevator 40 miles away 36000 bushel of corn. I cant afford the trucking cost anymore. The elevator said that it will cost me 10 cents to cancel the contract and another 20 cents to help replace the corn that i have contracted because the elvator has already sold the corn and he will have to replace it. Should i continue to ship to the elevator 40 miles away and get docked for alfatoxin or take the loss and send it to the local elevator and get a premium and no dockage. I already have about 14000 bushels at the elevator 40 miles away. Why is one elevator checking and another is not? What to do? | |
