| I remember 1974 very well. That was a year we had plenty off moisture but when July hit it turned over 100 degrees every day for thirty days and pretty well toasted the dryland corn. We had thiry of forty MPH winds every day with that heat. Then in September we had a killing frost around labor day an finished off what beans were left. I think that year the US raised the shortest corn crop in history. This year is not like that at all but it will be interesting to see what August weather hold. | |
