Winterset, Iowa | I've been watching a lot of nice green corn fields in my area starting to have lots of large areas of yellowing and stunted corn due to the excesive rainfall, especially on the flat ground and in low lying areas. We've now had about 20 inches since the first of May with more still coming. It seems from reading other posts on this site that this may soon be a widespread problem. Just wondering if the persons responsible for the weekly crop conditions report will realize that excesive rain does not make grain or are they all just a bunch of clueless morons? | |
