Central Missouri
So much of it depends upon drainage temp and history of rainfall over the past cupla years. Same conditions one year won't cause problems like another year. I'm with John on the lack of oxygen. Those aldehydes given off under anaerobicconditions are bad on plants. Haveyou had years where some areas of fields emerge and others don't; On my farm that corolates to internal drainage properties of the different soils in those areas. Better internally drained soils (more oxygen) always come up faster and are greener.
