If it is one with the "Twisty Shift" and the stick is in decent shape they shift really good, the later ones with the regular H pattern stick were not as nice to shift. I spent many an hour doing road work with a "Twisty Shift" 805 and other than the large gap between 8th and 9th in the main box it was an awesome haulage tractor, went fast and shifted smooth.

I don't know if I'd like the trans for loader work, all 4 reverse gears seemed pretty slow, the later 9F/8R box supposedly made a better loader trans (never drove one of those)
