Subject: Starting hay operation????

Medford, OK
I have recently moved away from the family farm. I currently live between the towns of Meridian and Arcadia, OK. I live on 130 acres, with about 30 acres of suitable cropland. The 30 acres is split in three small patches, 10 of it is bottom land which is decent black dirt, 15 is on a hill and 5 is on flat ground which is mostly made of the infamous red oklahoma clay. Was wondering with the local AQHA and local ranchers if it would be a good idea and see about starting up a hay operation. Thinking of a wheat hay/ hay grazer/cowpeas/winterpeas combination. Have never dealt with much hay, mostly grain production. What are some pointers you guys can give me on starting out. Is this combination a good mix? Landlord has a 70 hp 2wd new holland tractor with tillage and seeding equipment for his food plots but no hay equipment. Could this tractor handle a round baler or square baler? TIA. Devin
