Osakis, MN
Dug a few more plants up and it does appear that the plant first started growing downward as the stem actually grows in a horseshoe shape before it starts growing upwards. I forgot to mention in my first post that my dad drug the field about 2 days after planting. I think that this is the reason for the problems because in a few areas that didn't get the drag it is coming up nicely. I think it maybe put too much dirt on top of the seeds possibly and maybe loosened the soil up too much. The seed is measuring about 2 to 2 1/2" deep in the affected plants.
