I'm with you lentilgrower. I've often wondered why, if you're trying to conserve moisture, that you would till. I realize that there's no crop sucking up moisture but the evaporation from the stirring the dirt and having no cover must be a fair bit more than leaving the stubble stand. I realize that there are costs to spraying but I would think that the cost of working summerafallow / pass must be rougly the same as spraying 1/2 litre of glyphosate w/ a big pulltype sprayer.
I'm not saying that I know this is better than working summerfallow. Just asking questions.
