WCIL | Here is what I like about having the 20/20:
1. The downforce sensors help my set the pneumatic airbags to where they need to be.
2. The skips and doubles information helps me set my planting speed and does help to ensure that I've got the right amount of vac preasure. I run the promax 40's so I've been keeping preasure at 15-16 and the double eliminator at 50% hole coverage. This works for most flat seed types. For some heavy and round seed I've turned it up more 18-20 and for some real small seed I've had it down around 12.
3. The good ride figure takes the guess work of deciding if the row units are bouncing too much.
All in all it's been nice to have all this information available. I'm still not thrilled that it cost me $5700 to get this information when the only sensors added where for the downpreasure and ride quality. Hopefully Deere will get on the ball and at least add singulation data to the seedstar 2 program. The downpreasure data would also be very helpfull when running the airbag downforce setup. | |
