Wyoming | We were thinking the end of the week but then checking soil temp it's only 38. Would like it to be warmer. Planter was almost ready but is broke now. We were changing an opener disk and the stud snapped off, so I'm looking for a shank for the planter right now. Shoup used to sell them and doesn't show them anymore... $470 from JD.
I was strip tilling the last few days and it was working good on some hay ground, but I got into the corn where there is still a lot of cover and it's a lot wetter. Making wet clods instead of breaking up nice. So we stopped for now, but not sure it will even dry much with all the corn trash on top. Really windy last couple days, maybe it will. | |
