Raise the bar up and see what 200 lbs of NH3 looks like.  Turn the controller down to 10 lbs, and see what that looks like.  Then go back to running and decide if you are really losing anything or not. 

I would bet (but not a lot) that you could stream 150 lbs of NH3 on the surface of saturated soil and not lose enough to make up for the difference in cost of N.

That ought to provoke some response!
