Subject: RE: anhydrous vs liquid vs dry

It basically boils down to the mechanics of handling the product, volatilization, convenience, and personal preference because they all are good sources of fertilizer. The corn plant doesn’t care what source is used because it’s only going to be able to take up NO3 and NH4 (speaking of N only) through the roots anyway.

Anhydrous is the cheapest source of N of the three, but requires specialized equipment.

Liquids spread more uniformly than dry and form a homogenous mix. Liquids are great carriers for micro's and residual pesticides (one trip over two).

Dry has the advantage over liquid when it comes to efficiency in the field (more concentrated blends). Dry also does not get tied up in residue.
