NH3 won't run away like liquid or dry could with a big rain. If you are applying it in the fall make sure they soil temp is under 50F so it doesn't break down. NH3 won't get into the air because you are actually putting in the ground where the corn needs it. If you no-till you will want to spray and spread dry. we are conventional till so we use NH3 and dry 11-52, seems to work good.
