Road side ditches not mowed DO cost you money in lost yield on the outside rows tho.
At least "here" they do. They compete with the row for moisture and nutrients that are very easily seen when when left to grow "natural".
The entire slope and bottom of the ditch, I will agree to, but by not clipping that first 5 feet , the crop will suffer.
