The Envizio Pro will do rate control alone as long as it is a CAN system in the machine. The '08 and older machines that had 4600 and 460 consoles were not CAN based controls, so you would basically be spending a bunch on nodes and cables to pull the original console out of the cab. A lot of guys would just as soon hook between the consoles with a much less expensive null modem cable only and leave both consoles in the cab and still get pretty much all of the same functions, other than still having to do boom setup and so forth through the original console.
I believe that the one I knew about was a 120' boom, but don't quote me on that. Someone I talked to at a farm show. I'd sure think that someone else must have tried it and can tell us.
