Subject: RE: Reliability of electronic sending units for pressure sensing of sprayer booms?

Well, I've got quotes on everything I need. Having the part numbers made the dealer much more responsive.

1-422-0000-059 change to 090
Pressure Transducer - $237

1-115-0171-153
3' Console Cable - $54

1-115-0171-224
37' Sensor Cable - $94

Total cost would be $385 it sounds like. This is not out of line if it's going to last 5 years trouble free after it has been calibrated. However, if I have to replace the sensor yearly or if it needs to be re-calibrated on a regular basis then it would definitely not be worth the hassle. Is the calibration, etc really a big hassle on a regular basis? About 1/5 of the acres we spray with this fertilizer are with liquid fertilizer. It's usually a concentrated time period and we would be able to rinse the sensor off after completing the fertilizing part. Is that going to cause issues with the sensor quickly? Thanks.
