NW IN | On a rented farm we just emptied the bins. We call 10k bu. bins. the corn goes in straight out of the field. In 07 and 08 the corn was 18-19% going in and we had about 11k per bin with the corn piled to the roof, then cored (900bu) a month after filling. Then emptied in early summer. Usually came out 15-17%. 58-59 lb test weight.
This year we had filled to roof 20-21% corn, cored the same, then emptied as soon as we got free DP at Elevator, mid Feb. Came out 15.9-21%, 53-54 lb. test weight. We could only find just over 9000bu in those bins this year.
My yield monitor was off farther than ever before.
