We also did not get much fieldwork done last fall.......

In addition, we are going to have to spread hog slurry this spring.

I would much prefer disking........but.............

Looks to me like chiseling in our situation would be mandatory........or even moldboard plowing.........in order to get the stalks off the top, and away from the N coming with the slurry application, in order to avoid tie -up of the N.

Don't intend on hijacking the thread--------but seems to me this issue of what tillage to do in the spring is quite important.......and the factor of N tie-up can make/break the decision of using the disk.

And you just know it is going to rain this spring............
