I see your point on the price heifer close to fat price vs later as a cow price, however you could sell a heifer calf in her place. Just can't see that much cost in keeping a non prod. heifer 1 year on my place. All she will do is take a place in the herd and I hope I am not that close to overstocked. Be different if I dry lotted all winter and fed a ration. Ben
