Subject: RE: cost to keep a cow ( Jim )

Casey IL. ( I -70 ) then south on rt.49
I have raised cattle all my life and have never spent 500. on keeping a cow, why my lands stop and think if it. Cost that much to keep a cow then where is there any profit out of selling 500# calves. So much said I do understand that you really don't want the heifer any way was going to sell her any way so let that be the reason that you are selling her. I only run 30 head as Edie says I cannot make any money at it any way I do disagree but that's all right to. Back to the heifer, I have kept money a cow that has lost a calf if it was not her fault and was a good cow, to replace her you will probably buy or have a cow for 1 year any way so what is the deferent in feed cost.( Before selling a calf.)
I do really like the looks off the new heifer. I think she will help improve your herd.
