Sounds like the Soil Doctor. Is that what you've read? It's been a while since I've heard anything of it. Not sure if it works or not. I'll let someone else figure that out.

Electroconductivity. Yes, we are using a handheld meter that reads "ergs" which tell you the conductivity of the soil. You need energy flow to make things grow. When the "ergs" are low, there isn't much growing. When they are too high, you could have too much salt dissolved in your soil.
