Statesville, NC
Most of the brands that are no longer here dug their own holes way back, and never could crawl out. Back in the '70's my dad was going to buy a new utility tractor, and our neighbor (the AC territory rep.) brought out a 5040 to try. What a piece of junk. Made in Romania, same as a Long 445, painted orange. Glad we didn't buy that one. We bought an IH 574. That was a good tractor, but why did IH not improve their big tractors in the seventies? They kept the crash box transmission way too long. AC, White, and many others just gave up on utility tractors, and purchased from other manufacturers.
