Subject: My thoughts on the Orange tractor debate.... (might want a thick skin to read)

Nusbaum Farms LLC Bellfountain, OR
I'll preface this by telling those of you who aren't familiar with my posts that I'm about as far from brand-loyal as you can get. I'm an A-C fan, a Deere fan, a Farmall fan, an Oliver fan, and so on.

That said, c'mon guys. Did you really think you were buying an A-C anymore? The only thing A-C left in tractors built since the 80's was the paint. Does your life, your farm, your whole sense of being, revolve around orange paint? The orange paint had a good run, ever since Harry Merritt saw a field of poppies and wanted to paint his tractors that color in the 30's. A-C had some innovations and did some good things over the years but they died (at least as far as farm equipment was concerned) in the 80's.

All this whining makes you guys look like a bunch of pathetic sad sacks. Life isn't always fair.

I hate to see them go too, just like I hated to see the silver ones go but guess what, things change and life goes on. Cummins doesn't paint engines beige anymore...they keep selling. Steigers aren't green anymore...lots of red Steigers around here.

Maybe when Firestone changes the color of their tires I'll get upset.
