MO | In our immediate area, who gets the ground is coming down to who is taking care of the ground. A couple of local 10,000+ operators are quickly getting squeezed out of the area. It seems the landlords prefer the guys who fix terraces, waterways, and field drains. Mowing waterways, road ditches, and field roads scores major brownie points. Our landlords seem to appreciate that we can show them annual soil samples (manure management planning) and if they want, they get a production report. Unfortunately, it seems that some people only see the $$$ and shiny paint, but to each their own. Personally, I am still hoping for a new STX 385 in my stocking next Christmas. | |
