last summer we bought a Volvo with a 11.1 Detroit 60 series. It had a bad injector O ring and was getting fuel in the oil .
We had the whole fuel system drained for the O ring repair. When we tried to restart the repaired engine, I wondered if it would prime and flush the system on it's own.
I cranked it for about 30 seconds then quit so as not to overheat the starter, let it cool a while and tried again. About another 20-30 sec, it picked up fuel and started. |
