300-1000 acres plus a regular job is the common farm here in my part of southern MN.
Family operations with 3-5 families running the same 'farm' can be bigger, but that really is 3-5 farms sharing resources, so it comes back to ~500 acres a piece doesn't it?
The BTO is over 1500 per household. Some are getting closer to 5000, but that is rare - so far.
