tennessee | I just checked the antifreeze on my 1486 today and it looks like it's got oil in it. Probably a cyl. sleeve I'm guessing???? Anyway, I don't think this tractor is worth putting much money in--I never really have been pleased with it since I bought it. I don't use a tractor of this size very much at all, but when you need it you need it kind of thing. What would be a cheap older tractor about 150 hp that will be reliable? I'm talkin' cheap--$5,000 to $7,000 range. I pull a 400 bu cart with this tractor and occaisional chisel plow and 21 ft. disc, but tillage is rare as I'm mostly no-till. What about the older allis tractor's, I think they can be had cheap, how about reliable? This tractor also has to be better/smoother shifting than the IH--not gonna put up with that BS anymore.
