Yes It will work, and I'd just use the 220 plug on the generator if your going to do that. I just come out of that 220 with mine and put a 110 leg of it on each half of my breaker box by actually putting the wire on the lugs in the box, that's essentually what your going to be doing and it will work and will be easy once you get the wire made up!
