Subject: RE: Chisel Plows

We have a 2410 that works great for bean stubble. It has good trash clearance and does a nice job. We have 2" straight sweeps.

I have tried it corn stalks (that were chopped with a REAL stalk chopper) and it not work. The machine plugged after a few hundred feet. Even before it plugged it didn't do any worthwhile tillage.

I would give it a hopeless prognosis for working behind a John Deere chopping corn head. The Deere head leaves so much stalk "fluff" that is difficult to bury. We have trouble getting all of the fluff buried even with a disc ripper.

Other chopping corn heads might be better. I don't know.
