I think a chisel plow would work good in bean stubble to blacken the ground some.  In corn stalks the problem is going to be residue flow and the fact that they won't size corn stalks like a disk or even a disk chisel. 

The big question we need answered before we can say it will work or not is what your trying to accomplish with your fall tillage?
