Why did Monsanto fill water balloons with a mix of RR and fly over canola fields to see if the farmers had planted RR canola? I agree there are two sides to this story. The company wants to keep their technology and keep the cash cow going. Is that the best way to handle it is hire more lawyers?

I think a lot of farmers would have a lot harder time going back to a conventional program. The only genetics that have been brought forward are the ones that the traits worked in. How many genetic crosses would be "better" if the trait insertion would have worked? We'll never know. I can't find the article right now but the number of varieties of rice has gone from thousands to less than a few hundred because some of these companies want this market as well. If you google captain hook awards some of these companies are listed. If someone controls the seed genetics someone controls the food. If you are hungry what choices do you have?
