You were done with beans by April 15th? How do you guys up north get away with planting that early? I know ya'll will get some hard frost after that date. Frost free date here is usually around the 20th of April. I don't know anyone here that plants that early, except for the corn. I would love to plant beans about that time here, do ya'll have to re-plant alot? Just some ?'s Maybe I should start a little earlier, I just don't want to have to do it again.


Sorry, I looked at the log sheet and it was the 24th. From reading a few articles from the UNL, that the thinking of getting the seed in before the soil is warmed up to what we are to believe is optimal, might be benifical.

Yes, I got lucky planting beans before the corn. With this years weather, I was getting worried, along with my sharecrop landlord, that the corn would not reach black layer. The dryland beans in the corners produced 61 bu/ac with a test weight of 62.9 at 9.9 miosture.
