Subject: RE: planting beans into corn ground???

Been doing this many years now. 30" beans between last years corn stalk rows. Just drive the tractor on top of the rows so the planter is between them. Try so stay in the same set of 16 rows as last year so you won't have to worry about any guess rows. Wipe most of the trash out of the way with the row cleaners but you don't have to move it all. Not nearly as critical a planting corn. We plant around an 1" deep, as long as they're in moisture and covered, they'll be fine. We have planted as high as 150K before but have been cutting it back and this year lpanted 130K on most acres and am well pleased with the results. We might cut it back even more next year. We began strip-tilling beans about 3 years ago though to get some p&k down and am very happy so far.
