Subject: RE: Anyone with big rains try corn today

Farmington IL
We had right at 2 inches. There were a couple guys running friday. We started first thing yesterday morning and I cant imagine what a mess it must have been on friday. We went around some places and will move to another farm in the morning. Even on a dry farm there are "spots" now that are very soft. It did get much better as the day went on today. We went from combining 40-60 acres a day to 20-30 as we have to carry corn to the road in the cart and unloading on the go is like some wild video game. We are now planning and thinking of what would be the best way to spend our time before the next rain. Basically trying to decide which fields we want to have left to do when it gets worse and we have to wait for cold weather so we can finish. Not looking forward to picking corn when it is 20 degrees but I guess if that would let us finish, bring it on.
