I'm NE of Wichita about same distance as you are SW. I have used Asgrow 3803's for a number of years; they will tolerate stress and in an exceptional year like this make as much as 60 bu. Put down a half rate of basis late fall mixed with some 2 4D to knock down winter annuals. Then go with Roundup which is the way3803's come (RR1). Do a good job of innoculating as it is essential with first year beans. Shouldn't need fert. but do make sure your soil has a 5.8 or preferably higher pH. 15 in. will give more canopy for quicker weed control but don't get carried away with pop. If you get planted before June 1 should not have trouble following with wheat. My e-mail works...
