North East Kansas
I would run away from the challenger 670. We leased it for 3 years and don't want another one ever again. It was a miracle if we could harvest for a day without a breakdown. I am sure the machine has changed since we leased it, but it was terrible for us. Our 2577 with a 30 foot draper is cutting more soybeans in an hour than the 670 with the 30 foot challenger head. I know that some things have been updated, like the flighting on the front of the rotor, new designed shaker arm, etc., but ours was no fun, and I wouldn't wish that experience on anyone. Many people from around our area participated in the 3 year lease, and most the people were very mad and won't think about the challenger. The cat mechanic did say that they had better luck with the 660 than the did with the 670.

We also had to replace the plate right behind the beater 2 times. The beater is very aggressive and can damage corn.
