That looks like a lot better than 40-80 bu corn. My experience (which is far from TX) would be that 18K pop corn that looks like that could easily yield 125+.
Just curious if you have ever tried a really short season corn that would mature before the late season heat and dryness?

Yes, this year we’ve got plots of 85, 87, 92, 95, 102, 112 and 116.
That has always been my thoughts too. Plant as early as possible and short to try and beat the heat. Trying it all this year over a couple of acres to see |
