Your corn looks awesome. What does corn usually yield in your area and what are you expecting out of that field? Also will it be chopped for silage for feedlots or you harvest yourself?
This isn’t a corn region at all. It’s mostly a rotation for chemistry and tillage purposes when cotton acres are down. Heat and wind normally renders it to the 40-60bu range if any yield at all on dry land. Irrigated will hold its own. Mid June through September it’s not uncommon for 110 degree days and high 80s at night.
Some years it’s chopped but mostly harvest ourselves. This year it’s had great rainfall, fertility is good and I’d like to see population being our yield limiting factor. Realistically I’d be tickled at 80 with what we have in it for inputs. |
