Pen up a couple hogs in the yard they will wipe out the snakes.

Forget the particulars but the colonists came over at one place that was overrun with snakes. For some reason they decided to leave and left the hogs behind. They figured when they returned they would be dead, much to their surprise the hogs were fat and healthy and the snakes were all gone.

But then there is the problem of the hogs in the yard and the damage they will do rooting things up

I'm with you though the only good snake is a dead one regardless of all the benefits they are supposed to have. I'd rather have the other rodents than the snakes
