the ops manual says minimum 3klbs, recommended is 10klbs (for all crop types). In corn, 10klbs isn't a problem. In wheat or grass, it takes forever, so I might go 5klbs or something like that.

The bigger issues are not the size of the loads (as long as they're more than the minimum), but that all loads are very close in weight, and that they're each cut at a different flow rate (and the rate needs to be as consistent as possible throughout each load). For example, cut one at max flow, one at 80%, one at 60%, etc. You can change ground speed or cut width to change the flow rate.
