Subject: RE: Northern cattle to Oklahoma

South Carolina
The wolf mountains are pretty special and with a little rain in the spring they grow some phenomenal grass. I was very blessed to work on a great outfit there. That said the guys in that country would benefit greatly from backing up calving 30 -60days as winter is real in there.

Would running stockers work better in your country? What could you do differently that would cheapen your costs? I haven’t been around that area in a while but there were a lot of 1500lb mama cows around and I do not see how anyone other than the feed company makes money with those cows. I say that and I live in an area where we get 56”+ a year and we can’t make them work. At the risk of sounding contrarian, it seems like if academia and industry are saying go right, you should be looking left hard.
